Cricket

The Hundred starts again today, I know it's not popular on here but I quite like it, Southern Brave are my local team here and their ladies won last year, let's see if they can do it again.
The hundred is much better to watch and generally a far higher standard than the blast.

I think a franchise t20 would be better than the hundred format. But I absolutely agree with the idea that fewer teams create a far better tournament. 18 teams is far too many to have a really good competition.

Strong rumour is that once the franchises are sold by ECB and each venue will retain 51%, it will convert to T20: no-one else in the world plays 100, so it is not preparing players for anything.

Will probably replace Blast, meaning more time for proper cricket.

There has to be an equitable sharing of monies between the counties, otherwise the unfashionable ones will wither on the vine.

The big thing I struggle with in the Hundred is that I have no connection to the teams.

Still baffles my why the local side couldn’t be called ‘Old Trafford Originals’ instead of Manchester.

Birmingham Phoenix getting badly done in both mens and womens games in the The Hundred. Both have got good sets of players (especially womens) but they are just a garbage team that can't get runs or take wickets, I dunno it's like the blend is all wrong there.

Josh Bohannon single handledly keeping Lancashire in their 50 over game against Durham, 270- 8, needing 75 of 43 balls. Currently 132*.

If they played 50 times I don’t see how the Lancs side doesn’t win more games.

I really don’t think the offering at Old Trafford specifically is any better than the blast.

I know that’s not the case around other sides but a Lancs v Yorks/Surrey game with England players available is a better standard than the hundred for me and would attract a bigger crowd.

Verbal diarrhea, it's a mess.

Meanwhile, the Windies struggling again after winning the toss and batting, 122-5. Unfortunately poor shots again at the wrong time, were 76-0.
