Had England dropped the catches and found themselves 155-6 we wouldn't be hearing about the luck NZ have had.

This England team got given more credit than any previous and deservedly so, but doesn't ignore the fact we had eight drops catches go for us in one innings. That doesn't happen often.

Drops are part of cricket so I'd say its more bad cricket by NZ than bad luck

You have to punish the opposition when they drop catches and they did with a 150 lead

The game isn't over, but they really should win from here. Should be chasing about a hundred.

That's true. It is a joy to watch England in full flow.
 

Have you guys changed something in how you develop the players before they get a game? Seem to be a lot of youngsters coming in and looking ready as soon as they play.

We seem to be stuck in the hoping players just appear, our A squads are full of hasbeens or never will be's in their 30's and shield cricket looks about at 4th grade park cricket level.

Definitely been a policy to pick on instinct and potential attributes rather than wait for a county cricket career to develop.

They basically watch them play a couple of county games and then if they like the look of them they pick them. I think it's the " no fear" attitude they pick on as much as anything else.

I think the dropped catches have been the number one difference between the 2 sides Walks. They were simple, club cricket catches that should have had England 6 for 50. That doesn't change the excellence of the batting and the great lines bowled second innings by England but this game was lost by NZ on day 2 by school boy errors.
