We - Lancs - lose (or drop points) too many home games throughout the season due to weather. We get the prevailing Westerlies which brings in the rain from the Irish Sea and as it hits the Pennines it dumps it all over us especially Manchester - hence the 'Rainy City' - and leaves the Tykes reasonably unscathed. They may get the colder easterlies but they tend to be dryer. Lancs have always been better in the one day games and I can still recall the halcyon days of the 1970's when we were supreme Numero Uno!

Lovely warm sunny day, weather set fair, I know, we'll bowl, Middlesex 83-1 and going over four runs an over. Shows a complete lack of confidence in Lancashire's batting.
