You're assuming we haven't reached the top of the adoption curve.

At some point the demand will stop growing and at that point the arse falls out because the only thing driving price increases are the blind hopes someone is paying you more for it down the line. When that mirage fails it will be a race to sell it off and recuperate whatever value they can get.
Absolutely agree that's a baseline assumption, but are there any clear indications that it's at the top of its adoption curve? Personally, I don't think the end result is necessarily preordained, and that its ultimate success is predicated on enough general confidence holding through future bear markets.

I'd say we are getting close.

Your average everyman with very little financial savvy have already made it into the market.

It's the equivalent of Joseph Kennedy hearing stock tips from shoe shine boys and knowing it was the right time to pull out of the market.

Come on even you should be able to do this maths.

If you buy 200 bitcoins for $46894 each three months ago and they're now worth $34474 today how much value have they lost from their investment?
But they bought more at 35 k and haven't sold anything.
They are issuing bitcoin backed bonds next month to wipe out their debt to the IMF slavemaster, again they haven't lost anything!
More the point, how much have you lost out on if you had invested £100 if you had been more open minded ?

Just because they haven't sold and recognized the loss doesn't mean that at the moment their holdings aren't worth less than they paid for them does it?

So I'll ask you again? How much value have their bitcoin holdings lost at today's prices?

If I had invested 100 quid when El Salvador did and I cashed it out today I would get 69 quid back.

That's some clever investing.

Again,
They haven't lost anything because they haven't sold anything at a loss, they have even more bitcoin than before the crash,it's basic economics!
