everytime you post this gold bug stuff bitcoin goes up 10 %,so keep going ?

I’m not a gold bug, it isn’t even an asset class I own.

But for a long time it has held safe haven status and it still seems to hold that appeal to many investors despite claims that bitcoin would overtake it for that purpose. Bitcoin is, under a real world stress test, not giving portfolio diversification.



That isn’t to say it won’t do well over a longer term or hasn’t some other benefits but I honestly a bit surprised that it hasn’t done better under current conditions.

crypto networks aren't like a plane that can be intercepted and taken down.

If someone in a random country send BTC from their self custodial wallet to someone in Russia with their own self custodial wallet there is literally nothing the US gvmt can do about it.

What they can do is shut down middlemen exchanges that process transactions to russian accounts, but that is no different than what the banks do...
