I’m not so sure. He currently stands to face about 110 years in prison if he gets a maximum sentence on all charges and they are to be served consecutively. A lot will depend on the second trial which may not necessarily go ahead.He’ll never see the outside of a prison again…..
I would not be shocked to see him sentenced to concurrent terms which would mean he is out in 20 years. He is young, it wasn’t a violent crime although obviously a horrendous one. White collar crime rarely gets punished as strongly though. Madoff got 150 years but they knew he was unlikely to see any more than 20 given his age so easier for them to throw the book at him.
Again though that depends on the outcome of the potential second trial.
