What is koolaid?
It's an American fruit drink. The phrase "drink the kool-aid" comes after the Jonestown massacre in which over 900 cult members committed suicide by drinking a poisonous mixture of the fruit drink and other things. Although it turns out they didn't actually use Kool-Aid but a different fruit drink called Flavor Aid.

Good job there is no such thing as bad publicity...

Next time I happen to be at an American party I'll pass on the Kool-Aid.

BTC itself is clinging on grimly by the fingernails to the current level just above 6k but the smaller altcoins are getting hammered and setting new lows. The whole crypto market is now down 72% from peak but BTC is 50% of the current market and has held up relatively well it means the other coins that make up the other 50% have done worse.

So despite BTC's price falling by almost half in the last month, its share of the market has actually increased to almost 55% now, which means the altcoins must have been absolutely hammered. Indeed, if you look at the vast majority of them, they are down typically 90-95% from peak, compare to Bitcoin "only" down 82% from peak. So unless your portfolio was overweight in Bitcoin, chances are that you've taken even more catastrophic losses than headline figures suggest.

Still useful for money transfers over the internet when paypal and bank transfers are to be avoided.

Would be quite happy if they stayed stable at the current level rather than the insane swings over the past year.

Knowledge

Wasn't long ago I remember withdrawing £20 at a cash point, having a great evening in the pub and a curry, and still having change.
Mind you, I always enjoy walking 3 - 6 miles home rather than use a taxi or bus ... It clears the head, and you always see some entertaining drunk!
Christ , where do you live
20 quid would get me 4 pints and a packet of crisps

Have you seen the price of crisps in a pub?

Yeah, well when I say 'not long ago' that could be 20 years like.

Pub in our village brews its own stuff and flogs it for 3.20 a pint (it's done up 40p in 4 years the gets!). Got to say its the best beer I know of, and I like my beers.

So a great night out for me now would be around £12.80 for 4 pints (obviously through some kind of round structure), plus £12 for chicken jalfrezi and peshwari naan on the way home.

Of course, factor in a female* (like my missus) and it all goes to pot. They're incapable of enjoying cheap straightforward drinks, so will have some concoction at the bar that draws ingredients from at least 3 different continents, causes an enormous queue, is mainly orange juice or some nasty fizzy white wine and produces a bill that would probably buy you the isle of wight. Of course then they're immune from being part of a round structure, despite having an equal opportunity to go to the bar themselves.

A cheap night out is only possible with mates. Only mates.

* for those of you tempted to become professionally offended and lambast me for sexism this is called observational satire. Satire! It's a form of humour.
