I’d organised an event today and was out of the house from 8-6pm splitting migraine but seems small change compared to having to sit through a 90 min Benitez special. The players haven’t shown themselves in a great light either tbf

Well, yes and no. It was bad today but Benitez played it totally wrong.

We went 433 with a front line of Richarlison, Gray and Townsend - who all need balls into feet. We were playing long ball.

If we're going to play long ball, fine, but don't put Richarlison between two big CBs and expect it to work. Play Rondon and have Richarlison playing off him. Why is Townsend playing? The lad is so out of form. The only answer can be for set-pieces... because he's punted Digne so has no other alternative.

That being said, I don't want Gomes starting games as he's just too slow. But at one point he put Gomes up in a 10 role just to hit long balls to him mate. It's madness.

That system today ended up not working because the manager got the approach completely wrong as to how we would play on the ball. I've said it tons of times, you cannot treat Richarlison as a target man. It doesn't work. We saw how to play to Richarlison as a striker

To be honest mate, he doesn't have options, and the injuries had made it even more difficult. Formations becomes secondry when you cant even decide which player is worse then the other. Take for iwobi vs Gomes? Or Keane vs coleman? Townsend or iwobi? Knowing Townsend needs rest, he is forced to play him because there are simply no options. Gordon isn't ready for a start, is goof for 15-20 mins as a super sub, and is still not mature with his decisions.

Its baffling really, we've got a defensive manager who is playing unadventurous defensive football and yet.....we are all over the place defensively.

We need a system restore! We know FSW is getting sacked at some point, so bring in Rooney, give him a five year contract and accept we are on a proper rebuild. We've all heard the 5 year plan shout but we need to give a manager time no matter how we play. Rooney will get a bit more slack as he's a legend.

Please tell me what credentials Rooney has as a manager. Terrible shout!

That group of players are gutless cowards that just don’t care. I can’t judge Benitez given the players we have. I would keep Doucoure, Gray, Richarlison, Godfrey, Pickford possibly. The rest need to go.

It doesn't matter who is in charge as long as this dislikeable bunch of failures are still here. Calling for Benitez to go doesn't fix the main problem.

But he’s one of many problems and even with an entirely different squad of players he’s clearly never going to be a success here. The fans decide manager’s fates at this club, and they decided his when he walked through the door.
