Did gerrard really get second best player by the football writers? He hasnt even been their second best player. I am pretty sure Giggs got same award when he started about 10 league games, so it has a history of whoppers awarding platitudes to whoppers.

Have England nominated their WC ref yet? Or has it been selected ny FIFA, no idea how it works.

Anyways my point his Clattenberg might have to restrain his natural kopite bias and therefore not give any ludicrous decisions in their favour, with it been so close to the tournament.
It's Howard Webb mate.

Surprised he's had the balls to come out and suggested they are looking to reverse a chunk of the goal difference tonight. Strikes me as a tad disrespectful to his opposition tbh. He could look like an absolute tit if Palace frustrate them as they're not unlikely to do.

That's if that quote is accurate and not taken miles out of context (which it probably is, come to think of it).

Heres the article in full just out of interest ...

I heard that as well. The news reader said "Suarez pipped Liverpool team mate Steven Gerrard to the award" . Gerrard isn't even Liverpool's second best player let alone the league's second best player. Once again the media are having a wankfest over "stevie".

...he's moved on since that Goodison derby. Much less obvious, he'll give em the big decisions that could have gone either way.

It is Webb.

Webb has maintained his excellence partly through being pushed by Mark Clattenburg, widely considered England’s second best referee. As well as being an exceptional official and a man free of ego, Webb is also respected for his willingness to pass on his knowledge to promising younger referees like Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor.

Clattenburg is attempting to be number uno and Riley seems to be pushing for him to be the next England World Cup ref.
