Darren Bent - Opinions?

I have a huge amount of respect for this lad, who proves himself year after year that he really does have what it takes to be classed as 'one of the best'.

Why is it then that he is rarely favoured by the England managers?

Surely he will make it to the World Cup ahead of Owen and company, or it will be a travesty of justice.

Wish we could have gotten the lad to come here.

Hes good, but wouldnt go over board, hes far, far better than Heskey.

I've not heard any complaints to be fair to the lad.

If you look at Rooney as a cert, and Defoe as a 'surely unless Capello is blind' , then I don't see any Englishmen who are better than Bent in his position.

If Heskey goes and Bent doesn't, Capello should be sacked.

He nets like, I would have liked to have seen him here but not for that money.

He is one of those boss English strikers who is just isn't good enough for international football, there'll be plenty more.

Heskey's a bit plop but he would be took for his value to the team holding the ball up and that, Bent is a different type of striker. I'd still go with Bent first like.

Surely you have looked at the top scorers in the Prem over the last few years and noticed Bent is a regular.

We bought the wrong Bent years ago.

Carlton Cole has only come good this season, he's been awful previously, not good enough for England. People will be pushing for Zamora next, similar player but again not good enough. Glad we didn't buy him from Brighton when we were looking at him.

Kevin Davies is a good shout, I like him a lot, a very effective player who terrifies defences.

Its not all that bb though is it? I mean Fowler scored well more but didn't cut the grade at international level, Le Tissier although not an out and out goal scorer was similar. Sometimes players just don't make than transition and I think Bent will be one of these.
