His new contract will be appearance based, so I've got no problem with him getting a new deal. Nobody else would touch him with a bargepole so we'd have a pretty strong hand in negotiations.

Im shocked that more people don't know this, anyone who thinks he is on anything near what most Premiership players pick up is seriously deluded, if anything he will be by far our lowest paid player I reckon.

I have no problem with this, if he can give our main players a rest in league cup games...etc its fine by me.

But why 2 years? Is it considered derisory to give someone his age a 1-year contract? Don't see why when he admits himself he is constantly crocked. strange one for me. we have Barry, Besic, Barkley, Mccarthy and Cleverley that can play in centre mid not including the youngsters. an a 100mil war chest I would have though we would look to add a top centre Mid.
