I heard the Everton medical staff are working on ideas to keep him fit.... apparently they taped oven mitts on his hands so he can't pick up pint glasses.

- He can't tackle.

- He has no positive, forward momentum.

- He is an average passer at best.

None of those points are true.

He is an average (premiership), injury prone footballer. But, he does offer something different to the other average premiership midfielders we have. His passing and vision are very good. If Barry were to get injured tomorrow in the warm up, Gibson would be best replacement.

In the words of John McEnroe... "You cannot be serious !!!!!"

Actually mate, I think you are serious and that is a far bigger indictment of the availability of quality defensive midfielders within the club than it is your view of Gibson and his ability.

For me mate, he is a total waste of space now.
We got about 20 decent games out of him when he first arrived, but after that his availability has been woeful and when available, his contribution in real terms is dreadful.

And I stand 100% by my statement of him being a shocking 'role model' for our younger players.

The fact he is still in the squad is an indictment on the paucity of quality in the creative midfield areas that has arrived recently at the club. Besic and Gueye are good buts for your defensively minded pressing mids but Barry McCarthy Cleverley Jesus wept. Gibbo's right foot probably has more creative talent in it than those three put together hence he is still in the squad. A deep lying creative midfielder to replace Arteta should have been prioritised long ago.

@AndyC

I didn't mention role models or his availability. I just said what you said isn't true:

- He can't tackle.

- He has no positive, forward momentum.

- He is an average passer at best.

If Barry gets injured in the warm up tomorrow, who would you play?

I'd rather Koeman play than Gibson !
And I don't think I'm on my own in my opinion of him either.

I think we set our stall out in the summer (and probably we should have all realised) when Gibson got a new deal and Stek was signed and obviously told he was the number 1.

Gueye > Barry > McCarthy > Besic > Davies > Gibson > Liam Walsh > R. Koeman > E. Koeman > J. Lumsden > Tea Lady > Cleverley

He can't tackle.

The hell are you talking about?
