Fair enough.

Funny though. Where's the "hate" for those who allow Manchester United to become a publicly traded entity? Had it never become publicly traded, the mechanism by which the Glazers bought Manchester United would never have existed.

Is anyone upset at all with those who allow that to happen? Or is it more because it's the Glazers?

I don't think I've missed the point as you've alluded to. On the other hand, I think a great many of your supporters frankly have.

I'm no Glazers supporter by any means but maybe you can enlighten me as to why the hate?

Think the hate stems from the fact that they bought them with borrowed money and the club went from relatively debt free to laden with debt, the fans see it as the glazers not taking any risk because the club is liable for the debt and not them, and they have used the club to give themselves loans and salaries instead of that money being used to pay the debt off.
they protested from the moment they showed an interest and there were running battles outside O.T. whenever they thought the Glazers or representatives were there (not even on matchdays), the fans have opposed from day 1.

how far will it go then nev ?

£3 scarf of £50 ticket ?

the sheep that have signed up themselves and 4 relatives to be 'in the gang' will soon be ditching the zaire colours. why didn't they use gold btw, as we can all see that it's yellow.

Good point Reidy if that happened I believe there would be a riot literally

Already been a bit of mither with some stewards being sacked for wearing green and gold

Anyway I pretend its Gold mate scarfs are £2. 50 by the way direct from MUST

Finally contrary to popular belief the vast majority of fans are real and full on

Agree

2. Is anyone upset at all with those who allow that to happen? Or is it more because it's the Glazers?

Both

Disagree

Neville as afar as I am concerned this is an Everton website. Save your Man U protests for your own website. Don't mind you coming on to talk about games or players but thats it.

Could not give a toss whatever is going on or down at Old Trafford.

Not helped either by rumours again today in Sunday Papers that you lot are after Gosling and Rodwell. So who is leaking stories to the papers to unsettle our players. Had enough of that crap with the Lescott affair. Man U are no different to Citeh for all your "I'm on your side bleating"

Nevs a member, and that gives him the right to talk about whatever he wants within the rules. We don't have a world football section for nothing.
Don't be such a mardy ass. (y)

so what's the Cliffs Notes version as to why Manchester United fans want the Glazer's out?

I'm not sure exactly why, but this is what I've read:

When the Glazers bought the club, most of the money used in the purchase came in the form of loans. Many of these were secured against the club's assets, with interest payments of over £60 million per annum. The rest of the money used to buy the club came in the form of PIK loans, which would then be sold into hedge funds. At the time of the purchase, the club's debt, as a result of the purchase by the Glazers, the club was automatically in $850m of debt. These loans would be continuously be refinanced in order to reduce interest payments, even carrying out a bond issue in January of £500 million to wipe out the PIKs. At the moment, the debt of Man U is at £716.5 million ($1.17 billion), the majority of which resulted from Glazer's purchase.

Anything I left out of importance?

Settle, big fella.

Nev has easily earned his spot to speak his mind - World Football or not.

Nev, you were saying?

Who do Man U fans want to buy the team though? It will have to be someone that has like $1 Billion dollars, that is liquid too.

ANY owner will have to leverage to buy, unless they are Bill Gates or a corporation with no oversight committee.

Who does this Man U group expect to save them?
