2024/25 David Moyes

Nothing to do with Dyche or Moyes. I like them both, there’s no bigger fan of David Moyes than me.

It just displays the hypocritical group think on here that one person can say something and you’re absolutely seething, another bloke says exactly the same thing and has you eating out his hand.

What is important though is what they’re saying and the fact they’re both saying the same things mainly shows what the issues are at the club.
Do you have much experience of human beings? People don't just react to what people say in the moment. Body language, attitude, reputation, achievement etc. all determine people's reaction. If a Div. 3 manager walks into a dressing room and tells a premier league fullback he needs to learn to play centre mid they'll laugh in is face. If Pep does it not so much.

Sometimes it's the way somebody says things and the general demeanor of the person saying these things, that provokes different reactions to the things being said. It's refreshing not having to listen to some body in the presser who doesn't constantly harp on about how poor the squad is and how bad things were 'before I got here'.

Can't say I miss hearing about noise, hard yards , on the grass, premier league fit either if I'm honest. All to a backdrop of somebody who is constantly rubbing his face and head and then sniffing his hand.

We were in absolute free fall under Dyche. He'd lost the dressing room and the supporters. The players had absolutely no belief that we would create chances let alone win games. Joyless, dour, awful football. We were definitely going down.

3 losses in 14 games...yeah, 'free fall'.

In his first post match press conference Moyes told everyone the players lacked quality.

He surely restored himself as a manager at West Ham, after not very successful stations at United, Sunderland and Sociedad.

The last 2 games were step into the right direction, long way to go with 4 points up the relegation, but it's the most relaxed I've felt about any manager since Carlo.
Considering how the Utd managers have done after Moyes I expect he would probably be considered as one of the better ones. Also took over at the most challenging of times and the club absolutely shafted him due to their gross entitlement and underestimation of how difficult a job it was. I imagine it took him a long time to rebuild his confidence after that debacle.

That’s weird. That post you quoted is not by me. How did that happen? 😂

Listen again, I think you'll find d he said he would like to add some quality to the squad, exactly what I mean, no attack on current players whilst saying what everybody knows, we need more quality across the squad.

Glad to see you so steadfastly supporting him though.

He stated that the team are hard working but he'd like to bring quality players in...the implication was obvious.

Morning fellow blues…

Long time lurker (very rare poster) thought I’d throw my tuppence in after a couple of weeks of the (new) old manager….

I’m pleased Moyesy is back.

SD did well for us and I’m grateful he kept us up but ran out of steam this season for understandable reasons.

We do have quality but the psychology of the team (and maybe dare I say the supporters) needs to be rebuilt and I think this is one of the key challenges…

The Spurs game (until they scored) was fantastic, the best I’ve seen for a long time, but when they scored everyone just thought … oh $&/! here we go, we will draw this… not gonna lie, I was panicking myself as soon as spurs scored the first.

We’ve all got to lose that mentality somehow….especially at home.

Thought moysey game management was right as well in that we needed subs at those times in the match, Lindestrom played ace but was getting tired and also lunging into a few tackles and was a potential red… Ndiaye was knackered… it’s just we were limited with what who we could bring on… and we were then on the back foot,… again part of the learning curve for Moyes…

I do think Moyes understands how we expect the team to play at Goodison and he will set the team up accordingly…this hopefully we get crowd going and players and crowd can feed each other and this will be a real weapon for rest of the season… in hindsight that was probably SD’s biggest mistake this season was not getting the best out of goodison park.

Fingers crossed for a good result today!

You seem like a level headed poster but once GOT gets hold of ye you will be talking nonsense like the rest of us soon enough! :)
