2024/25 David Moyes

Came in here to an all but relegated club - kept us up twice.

That's the only statistic worth knowing.

Dave … “ kept us up twice “ is one way of putting it … I mean he did … but Moyes is showing that we should have been well clear of the relegation zone anyway with the players we have .

Sean and his tactics were a massive reason as to why we couldn’t pull away from danger and he spun it so that he seems like he was the one keeping us up …

And you fell for it and are now to stubborn to admit he was crap

He's been here for 4 games mate.

Maybe your analysis stacks up by the end of the season and he gets near to Dyche's 48 points in a season when the PL were trying to kill us with points deductions x2 eh?

I do see it. I just have no inclination to then denigrate a man who did enough here to makes sure we're still a PL club with new owners and a new stadium to play PL football in.

I call those people who do that out as classless...which is what they are.
Door swings both ways though. In this results based business, you're only as good as your last result (for better or for worse)

We were struggling but the players were still with him and he had serious obstacles to contend with in terms of injuries to creative players like Garner and McNeil...and we were still two places off the relegation zone.

But as before: this is about handing the feller a bit of credit rather than pillorying him.

Not too many managers would have stuck around last season never mind oversee a remarkable 48 points run up in the face of the powers of the English game seeking to relegate us.

At the end of this season, Moyes will have kept us up twice as well. And both of his rescues are having to pick us up mid season from relegation scraps.

As I say, Dyche got us 48 points last year with this squad. Let's see if Moyes can get 21-24 points to match that rate in the second half of this season.

Maybe he gets it,, maybe he doesn't.

Sorry why is 48 points now the benchmark? It wasn’t for Dyche this season according to you, 35 points was his target, set by yourself. Why have the goalposts moved now?

But we're comparing the abilities of the two managers using the same squad aren't we? That'll prove who was best with them? 🤔

What middle class dialect is that. Sick of these squeaky silver spoon yuppies on sky sports spewing buzz words until they self climax.

If he was squeaking about Dyche being top wierd and loaded dead ball stats in Europe id tolerate it. But poshing it up over Moyes is nauseating.

He got 48 points in a season that he had already had 6 months and a full pre season with the squad before the season started.

If Moyes get anywhere near 21-24 based off coming into a morale bereft side, mid season, that had been poorly ‘coached’, who using words of his predecessor “didnt know how to win a game” then he deserves a 5 year deal.

But as Dyche was on target for 34 points, he only needs to get 17 points to match what dyche was capable of with this seasons squad.
