2024/25 David Moyes

In many ways I agree with what you’re saying, however TFG were never going to bring in a young progressive manager given the situation we are in. We needed someone to steady the ship and that was always going to be an older steady type. Moyes was the perfect fit for them given that he was available and he knew the club and the league. I don’t believe that anyone feels that David Moyes is the manager who is going to usher in an era of success but he will provide the next manager with a stable base to work from. I am hoping for a young dynamic manager with new ideas and an attacking outlook but I would rather that manager came into the post with a better base so that he has less pressure on him and he has a bit of time to get his ideas across. I have said it before but it is worth repeating “David Moyes is not the solution to Everton’s problems but he is the start of the solution “. It took quite a number of managers to get us into the trouble we are in, it is going to take a couple, at least, to get us out.
Yes, this is how I see it. It is a shame because we will be back to square one in a year or two - bad run of form, fans pissed off and need a new manager to keep us up. Rinse and repeat. Palace appointed Glasner when they were near the bottom, Wolves with Pereira, even Forest with Nuno (I know he was not what we wanted at the time). But yes, there was no way TFG could take the risk given how bad we were
