2024/25 David Moyes

Just on 40% of the season to go - win our game in hand - one that we won last season - and we're 13th.

... there's fans now saying we need to look up, and fair play to them. We've won a couple, lets see how long we can ride that bounce. After all, we finished 12th lasts eason with all the distraction/pressure of point deductions hanging over us.

The reality, at least to me, is this team is 12th at best with no injuries.

17th at worst. We should outperform Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester.

When you sit in that space, bottom half of the table, any team that's been in successive relegation fights will be in a relegation scrap until it isn't.

This team, no matter the manager, will be in a scrap.
We could be 13th yes, but from where we were, we shouldn’t be expecting to do that. He is a better manager, but his remit was and is still securing safety.

If he had the whole season, I would expect higher, but based off what he picked up from the last manager, even after a few wins, the expectation from when he was appointed doesn’t and shouldn’t change.

I think if he he had the whole season, we win at least 3 more of the games from before he took over. (Even just beating saints, Leicester and holding out vs Bournemouth for example). Puts us mid table.

If he had taken over in summer after we had just got 48 points, his target would have been matching that as a minimum. Not talking us down from day 1 in to a relegation scrap.
