2024/25 David Moyes

We need a better squad regardless of who the manager is as we’re not going to win games against them (or any other decent team) without luck or an off day. We’ve won 1 game so far this season against the current top 11.

Exactly and that's why I'm happy to let Moyes build. We'll probably see this kind of result repeat though even when we do have that better squad.

Our fans overreact after a Derby so much. People saying Moyes not the answer / honeymoon period over blah blah.

After losing 1-0 against league leaders in a tight game that could have easily been a draw.

Moyes has earned the right to go into the new stadium, and to try and shape the new era, hopefully with some more money to spend to build a better squad that he is happy with.

Do you think he WANTS to be playing Jack Harrison, coz I can tell you now by his reaction when Jack messed up the counter attack we had, he does not.

You can only work with what you've got. And he knows we need better quality in the team.
Don't think who are criticising his game management in the 2nd half are over reacting at all.
It was clear to a blind man that Doucoure and Harrison were the weak links in the first half. I'd argue they shouldn't have come out after half time. They both continued to decline in their performance even more after the break.
When we countered in the 2nd half I said it to the oul fella watch Harrison mess this up.low and behold seconds later he does just that. Dunno why Moyes looked so shocked and frustrated by it as everyone knew what was coming along with the Liverpool goal.
Had the best bench we have had all season. No excuses for keeping Harrison and Doucoure out there for as long as he had. Especially Harrison. I think it's a fair and just criticism.

If Beto finishes his dinner it's a different game and I don't think we're taking about Moyes's tactics.

Our problem is we've got sub standard players at the club that aren't clinical enough.

While I respect everyone's right to an opinion it's seems it's a personal crusade against Moyes with some people and it's prevalent when we drop points.

I'm not sure it is a different game. If you've watched the rs this year they just do enough. Went 1-0 down to Southampton at home for example. They've looked poor in the first half of a lot of games. They turned up the heat at the start of the second half until the goal, if they'd needed 2 they'd probably have got them

Its a completely different game...the whole makeup of the game changes.

That's just my opinion.

We were defending well,Beto was causing problems but our downfall is we're just not clinical enough.

I get people don't like Moyes but it clouds their judgement when analysing games of football.

You have to have decisions go your way and have players good enough to make and take opportunities.

We go into these games with a big differential against us from the off.

That said, we have to do much better on average in these games and at these grounds.

It must get better than one win in a generation, and getting worse in some cases, against the elite teams.

One win in five is more like it, not one in twenty five or thirty five.

Moyes has to start to make a dent in these fixtures next season, for his own sake and ours.

We seem to be saying this most weeks for what seems an eternity but alas
Unfortunately so far we've had little choice but use them. Injuries etc.. the subs confused me last night I'd of taken doucs off earlier and let Charly play in the middle for another 10 or so minutes.

I thought we did ok yesterday and might have come away with a point or even more if we'd taken chances and VAR had done its job. He's taken far better Everton teams to Anfield over the years and put in miles worse performances than the one last night.

The players have got complacent...I said this after the Wolves games.

It's on them to turn the gas up again.

They let the pludits go to their head after the mini run.

We've also got players at the club who's futures are uncertain, this isn't helping matters,it's a balancing act at the minute.

He'll get a pass for now given the sheer paucity of talent at his fingertips. But we need to be plugging that gap from June.

You're absolutely correct. We need decisions to go for us (at best, they broke even and that's me being very generous). But we can't control uncontrollables like referees. What we can control is whether we have good enough players on the pitch and whether we can take our chances. We did neither of those two things last night. We knew we couldn't affect the first of those last night, but Beto had his chance and proved himself incapable of rising to the occasion. We need better.

People laugh at me for saying this, but if we lose the next three or four, I think the mood will change negatively. Moyes has a big six weeks ahead of him in my book. His job - as far as I'm concerned - is already done. He kept us up and secured our safety. I still wonder why the length of his contract was not officially announced by the club...
