2024/25 David Moyes

They will continue to spend fortunes.
We are a million miles off challenging for champions league.
I have no doubt they will continue to spend but I am extremely sceptical it will make them better. Their recruitment has no plan whatsoever

I'm not asking for champions league or Europe or anything like that, but I dont want to see us showing so much respect to these teams at the start of matches. They aren't good sides, they all have huge weaknesses that any top flight side with good coaching can exploit.

He doesn’t have to pick Doucoure.

Moyes did his job this season, but he’s not the man for the future. The task has changed from rescue to rebuild. He’s a stop gap. The Friedkins will hopefully stamp their mark on the club on June 1.
I don’t think another managerial sacking will bring the stability we need.

For someone who bemoans short termism, you’re thoughts are displayng that very concept.

We could have got a draw for a finish.
Last week we made a ridiculous change and still didn't lose it until the last 5 minutes. But the reality is these teams have more quality. Jackson got one clear sight of goal and scored. That's the difference.

Absolute joyless mood hoovers some people, mate.
Large portions of this fanbase will never and have never forgiven Moyes for leaving.

Its the baggage he carriers.

Personally I dont care either way, I think hes done a cracking job with this group of players and would like to see what he can do after a Summer window, but if them Texans wanna sack him and bring somebody else in, thats fine also.

Personally I’d stick with him.

I'm not a massive fan of Moyes, but he deserves next season.

Problem is that TFG quite like sacking managers and Moyes is not their guy. Whoever they wanted to replace Dyche in the summer might still replace Moyes in the summer.

I can hold my hand up and say I'm one. I wanted him on garden leave and banned from Goodison and Finch Farm when he said he was going to Man United.

Well I, for one, am completely shocked that a David Moyes team didn’t win away at Chelsea. Even with absolutely nothing on the line for us. I’m taking nothing away from what Moyes has achieved this season. It’s been fantastic and a huge blast of fresh air fumigating that loser Dyche out of the place. However, let’s not kid ourselves. Moyes’ record against these types of teams away is there for all to see. He just doesn’t have it in him to win at these places. Absolutely nothing on the line for us today and we barely laid a glove. Same as it ever was. To reiterate, though, he is a billion light years away from Dyche.

I agree entirely on keeping Moyes but we also need to be far more positive and ambitious moving forward. We have been happy to stand still and keep ourselves afloat for about 5 years.

Losing has to matter more. We need urgency to improve. Poor performance needs to have consequences in terms of selection and moving players on. We need to see big improvement towards mid table next year.

We aint won in the league at 'the bridge' in 31 years, obviously entirely Moyes fault.

I checked out the signings of the chelsea first eleven today, £520million spent on 9 players topped up by two youth products.

our eleven today.

Pickford 30m
Patterson 11m
J O'B 18m
Branthwaite 750k + add ons
Myko 17m
Ndiaye 15m
Garner 9m
Doucoure 22m
Gana 2m
Harrison loan
Beto 25m

149m & 750k

chelsea's starting eleven today cost nearly four times what ours did.

We got stitched up by benitez on the myko and patterson fees. We were had over a barrel for Beto.
