2024/25 David Moyes

Showing Dyche levels of stubbornness with some of his decisions. Starting to be irritating
The biggest one is always starting Doucoure. The one I’m starting to not like is thinking of Ndiaye and McNeil as the same type of position player. I’ve been desperately wanting to see Illy move in more central since he got here and it never happens. You finally have McNeil back and he gets placed on right wing.

According to that post-match interview, Moyes said we were a much better side in the second half and the subs came on and made a big difference and helped us.

In my opinion, this has been the case a lot of times this season. It begs the questions why not start out with that as your game plan out of the gate and why not start those who you continually relegate to subs?

Everything was wrong with how the match started. We allowed Chelsea to dictate everything. They were relentless for 45 minutes straight. They were single-minded every possession - score. We sat back and took wave after wave.

After half we make some substitutions and start being aggressive to hopefully nick a draw. So like I said another thread why not start that way? Be the aggressor and try starting the players who keep coming on as subs. The group that came on later was superior all around.

And please play people where they belong. If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you always got. That’s why we’re spinning our wheels and staying afloat somewhere between 17 and 13 and celebrating not getting relegated as successful.

In his post match presser, Moyes has just said that it wasn't really anything wrong with the way we played, or our set up, it was just that Chelsea were so good.

He said we weren't at our best but ran them close, but they were so good.

What the hell game was he watching 👀 😳
Chelsea were dreadful. How they're possibly in the CL next season is amazing to me. They can hardly pass the ball straight.

"It's never been easy for us to come to Chelsea..."

...especially under him.

Bends the knee at every elite club stadium and will always do so.
He looked very tired, and repeated what we've all heard before innumerable times. Doesn't exactly overfill you with confidence for the next season. Wish him well, but if he gets off too a crap start the pressure will mount, and we'll possibly waste half a season if he's sacked.
