2024/25 David Moyes

A point gained that was. Moyes is the right manager for us for the here and now anyway.
I don't mind us winning points against Arsenal. They are very good. But we should be looking to win games. Once we get back to the winnable fixtures, we need to get some wins. 3 points equals 3 draws. 2 wins and one loss is 6 points. We need to start winning. Too many dropped points. Ndiaye and McNeil are coming back so hopefully that is a catalyst.

More of what though? our manager wants more defensively or at least as much defensive work as his attacking work.
Doucoure does more defensively = preferred over Alcaraz (for now at least), especially against a team Moyes thinks can tear us a new one, which unfortunately is generally anyone in the top 7.

Alcaraz has proven he can work defensively

The difference is we are triggering Charly's clause so he will certainly be here next year. Doucore will absolutely not be here next season. Regardless of how you value Charly, he will be an Everton player. Doucore is gone.
I thought he had a few more games to play for that to happen?

In any case, I wouldn't believe anything to do with contracts and clubs spoken in the media.

It is when there's f.a. to play for.

This is classic Moyes: instead of using the last few games of the season to blood younger players like any sensible manager would he plays senior pros, because he's all about Moyes not about the future of the organisation he's working in.

He's conservative and he's a boring get. That cardy he wore today is symbolic of what you get with that tartan drone.
Yep - there's no excuse for not using these games to blood younger players, try certain players out in their regular positions. As you say though he won't do it. He never did it in the past 11 seasons and he isn't going to do it now. One of the reasons we shouldn't have brought him back. Not only bring him back but put him in charge of everything including transfers. It's boring, unimaginative and won't pay off in the medium to longer term. Plus the football he serves up is mediocre. I was glad to see the back of him years ago and nothing's changed since then.

Just like I did with Dyche at first. He gets a pass this season since he was brought in to keep us up. No excuses from next season though. I'm not asking for much but I want a much more positive mindset then what we got today.
Indeed starting from next season onwards he has to prove he's the man to take us to the next level.

For this season the main thing for me is that he's pretty much as good as kept us up, when the situation at the time seemed to be very dire.

There's no Kenwright to protect him now and knife to a gunfight excuses just won't cut the mustard any longer. He can't cry about there being no money anymore!

Moyesy is at a different Everton now with different expectations. His job for now was to keep us up and stabilize us, and that sort of thing is his bread and butter to be fair.

He said in his press conference in answer to the question about reaching 40 points: "I'd like to reach 70 points!" - as if it was something outrageously absurd.

Martinez got 72 points no problem.

Just underlines his conservatism.
