2024/25 David Moyes

Although DM has done well in his second coming there are still moments that remind you how close
tactically he is to the previous manager. To bring on M. Keane was a ghastly mistake. If he had put Jake at cenre-back, it would have been a clear vote of confidence in Jake, it would have been a test to see how Jake plays in his natural place against top opposition, it would have given a chance to Patterson. Keane is the past. Jake is the future and we have to decide if Patterson is the future as well.

My fear is that DM does a DM thing and gets a bum like Soucek. Or repeats mistakes like that Davies transfer from Spurs or Beattie from Soton. Yesterday, DM could have played Charly at 10 not Doucoure just to see if he can play in that position. Doucoure is the past. but with DM who knows?

Have I entered an another universe, felt we were the better team for most of the game yesterday.

It wasn’t rag ball river we were playing yesterday it was drop 200 mill in the Jan transfer window Man City, theyve more quality in ther U20 team then we have in our first 11.

And we gave them a game, they’ll feel very lucky getting up the road with a result.

At least let the manager attempt to build a team.

Interesting a few sites i saw Ortega was given MOM.
You can pick the bones out of most displays. There isnt a manager in Evertons history of my time following this club that ive always agreed with. Moyes is no different. The game swung on Keane coming on. I wouldnt have played him as he creates panic. But there you go.
We gave them a game but we've got no real class up top.
Moyes has got lots more out of this squad than the previous fraud but its still very clear we need to add and strengthen.

4 months ago we were stirring down yet another relegation battle.

Today people are crying cos we got beat at home by the 4 times League Champions.

The sense of entitlement that people in this world have, its breathtaking.

When Moyes took over we were still out the bottom 3. and in the 4 and a half months since the bottom 3 have literally won one game each. Even under Dyche we'd be clear of trouble given that.

We haven't beat a top 10 team at home and were knocked straight out of the FA Cup under Moyes at home to Bournemouth which pretty much ended the season in terms of anything to play for.

By 1 point. We were sitting out of the bottom 3 by 1 point. That indicates we were just as bad as those bottom 3. We had won the same amount of games as Ipswich.
Why do you think we would have just pulled clear lol. Just why.

We surely shouldn't have taken the risk of Leicester and Ipswich winning 4 and 6 points in the 13 games after Dyche was sacked and hope that they will have such a drastic drop of form.

I honestly dont know how bad Everton would have continued to be under Dyche. Would we be around 5 or 6 points ahead of ipswich right now. Who knows. But yeah. This casual approach of oh it never mattered because the other two were poor. So we'll keep on being crap in the hope others are crappier lol.
Great stuff.

Sound.

But if Dyche was still here we would be 18th and there is nothing you can say to convince me otherwise, so save your fingers.

Absolutely, and we'd be 17th between Wolves and Ipswich by now.

Never having the chance to finish 13th what we have now, which could mean to have 10m more money to invest. My feeling is we will finish on 45 points.

I suppose you could argue that DM was having a look at Keane to see if he's worth keeping. I should think he knows the answer to that riddle now!

I agree, and it's clear Moyes isn't perfect.

I think the fanbase would be sensible to see Moyes as a manager that can steady the ship properly (unlike Dyche), put us back in the top 10/battling for Europe but he probably isn't the man to take us to Emery or even Howe levels like Villa and Newcastle have done.

If he can do that then with the new stadium and Friedkins we will be in a much stronger position than we were under Kenwright when we couldn't go to the next level due to a lack of financial backing.
