On Klaassen: I've seen him a few times and he strikes me as a 'box to box player' that could only be thought of so in a league that is pretty 'kin rank.
Just like Barry Ferguson looked like the cats whiskers powering past the Dunfermline's and Kilmarnock's of this world, Klaassen, I suspect, looks like class only against the Vitesse and Go Ahead Eagles of this world.
And Celts and Lyon when he looked very good against both teams mate
Hard to judge from that league and honestly doubt very few have seen him outside of the europa games for Ajax when United game apart he's looked very good, second half of the second leg against Lyon like against United the entire Ajax team played poorly.
Can he do it in this league, we won't know till he starts playing in it. As for why he could only be thought off as a box to box midfielder in that league, why exactly, because he's not blessed with pace etc? His general movement, engine and ability of popping up late into the box should translate well, he'll lampard, scholes and numerous others excelled in this league without being the biggest or fastest.
If he's the sum addition in terms of attacking midfielders/wingers etc, then yeah a concern maybe, if he's brought in as a replacement for outgoings such as McCarthy though then its good business as he at least gives us a different dynamic in what he offers the team.
A midfield where we have the options of schneiderlin, gueye, klassen and davies with players like besic, Walsh, dowell hopefully ready to step up is a hell of a lot better than we've had for many a year. And for Europa is essenstial to have that depth.
