Difference between knowing who they are and playing them. In Holland it's a necessity to play younger players. My point with Koeman is that when not faced with that choice he'll buy in. He did that at Southamptin and the only player he's actually given massive game time to from the academy since being here is Davies.

I fully expect Kenny and Dowell to be loaned out this summer.
Neither correct or Fair.
Davies seems to be somewhat of a freak, physically developed and powerful, a good football brain and the confidence of youth to back it up... Koeman of course deserves credit for believing in him and continuing to give him an opportunity.

However, he has also given Lookman, Holgate and DCL in particular and enormous boost in their professional careers. Young players generally need to be brought into the team and taken out again as they build up experience.
If anything was wrong it is that Davies was overused and I think RK recognised that by insisting he had the summer off...he could have played in the under 20 team.
I think Kenny will certainly get a chance to stake a place in the squad... he looks ready and has certainly earned his shot, but after watching the under 20 competition recently I don't believe Dowell is premiership ready... a season long loan in the championship would be gtreat for him.
Dave, I don't know if you believe what you are typing or not, but imo you are swing and missing big time recently.

If Koeman feels that that's what they need, then I hope they are.

Davies has surely proved that if Koeman thinks you're good enough, you get game time. It seems to me that your actual problem here is that he is not playing players that you feel are good enough, rather than players he feels are good enough. Maybe Koeman just has higher standards than you do Dave.

Dowell with my contacts has not had the best of seasons or shown the promise of the season before , but has a sweet left peg and will make the grade - sauce a guy who knows Joe Royle, Walsh is the next player to break through when fit!

@davek ashilarious as all of this is, what was once respected as a different point of view and an appreciation for the artistic element of the game has now just become a one eyed agenda.

You've knocked every single signing that Koeman's made. This lad hasn't even joined and he's a Dutch Barry Ferguson, Schneiderlin wasn't needed, Bolasie is a headless chicken, Williams useless etc.

I did no such thing. I stated he has a mixed record: Gueye is an unqualified success; Schneiderlin I always said is a very decent player (just that the timing was all wrong as we needed other positions filling). Lookman I said the jury is out on. Yes, Bolasie I said is a waste of money...but then who doesn't think that? Williams is a disaster, but I always said that it's a mistake I made too as I thought he was a good signing.

Then you blasted him for not playing kids at his old job whilst simultaneously ignoring him playing kids at this one. During that general ignorance you've still found time to write off the careers of DCL and Pennington and accuse Koeman of destroying Dowell and Kenny something he hasn't even done yet?

Get it together man. You've gone from convincing the forum that yes Cleverley and Kone are the answer to our wide position problems to being mocked on every single thread.

Give Koeman a chance. If you're right he'll die by the sword soon enough.
Sorry, I said he didn't play them at Southampton and it was something he should have his feet held to the fire for here if he tried it.

Now then: Davies has been his success in terms of promotion from the academy and giving proper extended game time to. But Holgate was already blooded. Pennington I supported and have no issues with other than to say he was thrown in at the deep end in the derby and suffered for it. His confidence was ropey after that. Personally I dont see it happening for the kid. DCL: that lad is NOT a top end of the table PL player. I dont care how many he gets for the England U20s, he's just not up to the job of playing for Everton...and I think most of us know it.

Kenny and Dowell: I said that if he loans them out (there were reports that he is planning to) then that is a huge mistake and I'd think poorly of that...again, most others would too.

So, all in all, you really are making a fuss about nothing. It's just an attempt to marginalise me as a loose cannon or a 'WUM', which perhaps might fit whatever 'agenda' you may have.

That's it Dave, you turn it around on them ;)

The lad is playing with immature and often clueless players at that level.

He has vision and can pick a pass and move smoothly with the ball.

In short: with top players around him he will be much much better. Thos U20 lads are not at his level of thinking.

Koeman also thinks handing out game time to Calvert-Lewin is a great idea too.....

Its called forum debate!
Klassen looked poor v a very average UNT side - comparing him to Ross - Ross is miles ahead of him, and will cost us nothing other than wages - again would not mind them both if the price for klassen, and wages are affordable!
