yeah he was good, but Jean Reno was also very good.

I loved the tranquility of the film though. Apart from the car chase which for me rivalled Bullet.

Forgot about Jean Reno.

He was very good in that. They made a good team didn't they?

I haven't seen any of the Godfather films.

They just don't appeal to me although i'm sure they are as good as made out to be so one day i may watch them if i get the chance but i don't think i'd make a special effort to see them.

It tops the polls for a reason. It came out in the 70s so how can it be now hyped. People are just polling it for the acclaim. Hype is usually reserved for films yet to be released or just released.

Take a day off and watch almost 9 hours of pure beauty. The soundtrack is sexual too.

I'm not denigrating the film - I haven't seen it, as mentioned. I would have been too young to see it when the first 2 came out, but I still recall that it was strongly promoted in the media, not that this was surprising or necessarily unwarranted. I'm not saying that the acclaim that the film has received since & at the time is wrong or inaccurate, I'm obviously in no position to do so. I was merely trying to explain how I find myself less attracted the more something is promoted & praised, maybe it starts to feel as though you're almost obliged to think the same thing even before you've had a chance to decide for yourself. I'm sure I'll get 'round to watching the whole set one of these days.

Absolutely fantastic actor and possibly the best actor of his generation.

Despite this I don't reckon he's made a good film since Meet the Parents or Men of Honour. He has really sold himself out, like Pacino into accepting these terrible parts to keep working. Seen Great Expectations/Copland/Rocky and Bullwinkle/Showtime/The Score/15 minutes and youll see what I mean.

And also classing Ronin's car chase as on par with Bullett, to a film person, is like saying Tony Hibbert is as good as Leo Messi. Its just not right.

Ones a classic, one is just boring pap from a Director who hadnt worked in 25 years, and boy did it show.

He's gone down hill big time recently with all these god awful comedies he keeps making. Untouchable in the 1970's though. Probably his last top notch performance was in Goodfellas, although the likes of Heat and Casino are respectable enough. Shame he's spoiling his legacy with Meet the.. and Analyze This/That horrors.

Watch Flawless with Philip Hoffman, that was pretty good.

The Fan was another good film of his that has yet to recieve a mention. Also the Frankenstein remake was well portrayed

That was an outstanding performance by DeNiro (and might I add Martin Scorcese as well.)

outstanding? i thought they were about the best of a very bad bunch in an exceedingly poor film, but it seems to me they were coasting along, rather hamming up previous performances somewhat - stretched they weren't.

Watched Casino last night, not one of Scorsese's best but the corn field scene in the end is tops. Take that Joe Pesci.
