Yes that's why you pay him afterwards. But all joking aside we need him, Keane has gone bye bye...again, Holgate, Kenny, Coleman can be put in the dustbin. Branth's and Godfrey are too inexperienced to play together, especially during a relegation battle.

I'm at a loss who we can play to be honest, they all panic with the smallest amount of pressure. The lack of legs in midfield is also hitting us again. Playing a high line is suicidal without any pace to get back. Keane is gone mentally and Coleman just doesn't have anything left in the tank. Branthwaite is going to have to play from now on due to the lack of alternatives. We then have to hope Godfrey is back (not that he's particularly good either) and get some more legs in midfield. We really are a shockingly poor team and we will be completely reliant on the three below us being equally useless until the end of the season or Leeds dropping below us. As for next season we have to get rid of the majority of this squad, whichever league we are in, forget about recouping money on them, we won't.

Have we got a defence?
Benitez had us play defensive, with low percentage possession...Ancelotti the same but was more successful at it...lampard is going the other extreme, something that neither benitez or ancelotti thought we were capable of doing...meaning high pressure football, high lines, big gaps between the lines, possession football....this team is incapable of doing that...we need to revert back to defensive style of football or we will be relegated. This will help cover the incompetence at the back.

Yeah Coleman-Jagielka-Distin-Baines with Howard behind look like a World Class unit compared to these. They were solid, and only a couple of mistakes per season between them.

Lampard's track record managing a defence is a concern that has become all to real. Worrying that we have to wait now before we can make any reinforcements. Assuming we can stay up, who should we be looking at in summer? Needs to be our top priority I'd say.
It wasn’t just last night, but watch how many times Keane and Holgate step out if the back line to put early pressure on the attackers and it never works, leaving us wide open at the back. The double save from Pickford against City came because Holgate stepped up and was caught in no man’s land. They are both truly horrific defenders. Coleman’s been finished for awhile and one good game here and there isn’t enough for him to be kept in the line up. Kenny isn’t a left back, put him on the right or use Patterson. He’s gonna have to be ready at some point and can’t do any worse than what we’re producing at the moment. We haven’t see enough of Mykolenko to make a full judgement yet, but he’s our only natural left back, put him in. Branthwaite is already head and shoulders above Holgate and Keane and I suspect he’ll start at the weekend. Mina isn’t the saviour everyone thinks he is, injury record aside, he’s prone to stupid mistakes as well. Finally Godfrey, the lad’s an enigma, either brilliant or a headless chicken, but at least he puts a shift in.
Overall, it’s just a disaster from right to left.
If available I’d go with Patterson, Godfrey, Branthwaite and Mykolenko at the weekend. However, I think Frank will go with a back 5.

Yes he’s the best out of a bad bunch but useless cause he’s made of China everything about the defence is shocking not just how bad they are as players as a team they can’t play was all over the place don’t move up as a unit Keane was cm with Kane then got left and fouled by Kane but still and took the easy way out coming off unless lampard pulled him off. Branthwait doesn’t look anywhere near good enough can’t wait to get rid of the ball and defensively doesn’t look very good mykolenko the same Coleman looked like he was towing a caravan chasing son back has been finished for a while lampard subs had me a bit baffled not sure what he was trying to do he looks like in the lower half of a league he’s going to struggle to get a tune out of players especially ours don’t think there is a manager in the world that could do anything with that pile of shi….. Gordon was the only player who looked to have any fight or effort in him absolute disgrace the lot of them. I wouldn’t be bothered if a single player left they’re all replaceable
