I have no doubt the lad has suffered and I really feel for him honestly I do, but there has to be point when enough is enough with him as he starts looking like footballs version of a grifter.
I don’t think he’s been dishonest at any point mate. Two clubs in succession have made idiotic decisions to pay him a good wage in return for what I’m sure will amount to almost nothing.

Not really his fault; he’ll get paid, train when he’s able, not be up to the required standard then be on his way.

I’d be very surprised if this isn’t the end of his top flight career but there might be something doing for him in the lower leagues or abroad.

His career was finished years ago though, he can't play anymore, he is never fit, he doesn't need football surely. These clubs (we were one of them) are just stupid.

Couldn’t agree more. Not a grift on his part though. I imagine he can’t believe his luck (in footballing terms) but fair play to him; I wouldn’t be turning down a chance to feather the nest either.
