Kind of ironic that Dele was getting stick for turning up in a car only reserved for the elite and simultaneously wearing clothes that makes him look like "he's just been dragged off the street". (according to the media)

I think next week he should confuse everybody. Turn up for training driving the cheapest looking car only to get out wearing a tailor fitted Alexander Amosu Vanquish suit.

Or just turn up on a skateboard with Tom and dressed in a three piece dinner suit.

The manager clearly didn't mind how he dressed. If it was an issue for him I would guess they could have rustled up a tracksuit somewhere and let him change into that for his appearance before the fans.

Players seem to like to dress well... what dress well means is a matter of opinion.

Just a quick thought on this - but has anyone else noticed that it’s incredibly rare that white players get hauled over the coals by the media for where they live / what they dress in / what they drive?
Agree, but I will say that nobody outside our club probably gives a crap what our players wear. Alli is probably way more famous than any of them. The only time we got any attention was with James.

Tom takes plenty of flak.

I would say white players have a higher bar to jump over to start taking flak.

Once the media figures out that the criticism resonates, you're done unless you start looking like you just crawled out of GQ, live in an ordinary people house and drive an ordinary people car.

This is apparently what clicks say we're supposed to do.
