Its about harnessing their optimism and enthusiasm.
Over in the uk we have this massive facade of professionalism today - "no son, you have to watch and learn our ways and our system and our players habits." The moment is lost, the self doubts about ability creep in and expectation from the fans creeps up and up putting them under pressure so that by the time they come on they're nervous as hell. We do the same with our youth players - erode self confidence.
Some times its better to drop people into the deep end.
