2023/24 Dele

Sean Dyche has admitted that he is not sure if Dele Alli will play this season after the former Tottenham man suffered another injury setback last month.

When asked about Dele’s recovery and whether he is expected to play this season, the Everton boss said:

He’s in good shape. I spoke to him recently and we had a good long conversation with him. Making sense of another injury is difficult but he’ll come through that. There’s a long way to go. We’ve deliberately kept him back, we agreed with him to give him time and space. Hopefully, he’ll be back, we just don’t know”

Up until the season'e end, EFC are providing him with a multi-million £ pension pot, for zero in return.

He will announce his retirement, and the media will engage in a love-fest, concentrating 100% on his Spurs 'glory years'.

Dele will return to London and take up a new role as football pundit on Sly Sports news.

He and the media, but not his bank manager, will quickly forget that he 'played' for us.

Utter MUGS!!!!

As a club I'm of the opinion that we thought we'd play up to the "look at Everton and what they're doing to rehabilitate a player with issue. Aren't they good"
No sane footballing reason for the exercise whatsoever.

A club close to possible administration, and hemorrhaging millions in wages to a player who has always been physically and psychologically unfit to play.

No reflection on the lad himself, but he sadly epitomizes the current EFC mess.

His wages aren't even a drop in the bucket.

Unfortunately they are.
His wages alone would have taken us close to being compliant if the figures mentioned were true.
That is not his fault but it does rank as one of the worst and most pointless signings of all.

No, he was on the books for only half the year for the first breach and wages were mitigated as he was on loan for the 2nd. He would not have hurt the calculation that much.
