Hate it! Counting how much sell on fee they can get if they come good, selling at the 'right time' !!! Proper cringe. You buy them to perform for the club not to make money on
By product of the modern game isn’t it.
Very few local lads in team’s nowadays, only scouser in the squad today was Gordon and along with Coleman they are the only players you could say definitely care about Everton.
How many players in today’s team dreamt of playing for Everton?
30 years ago the now common chant of ‘he’s one of our own’ would have held no special praise.
Reality is that ,like all the other none CL clubs, we are a waypoint not a destination for players still young enough and possessing the ability to play for a top club.
If Gray can maintain his form for two seasons he will get his dream move and in the interim benefit us with good results as well as providing us with the profit to maintain our place in the PL.
A corollary of this is that the connection between the footballers and the supporters is more ephemeral by the season. Why idolise someone who will jib you off at the first opportunity?
But that’s modern football, that’s were we are and many of us have been complicit in the journey that carried us here.

This guy realises that he gas been given a real chance again in the prem and is grabbing it with both hands.
Chapeau to Demarai and Benitez.

Ben learned a thing or two about how to do everton transfers when locking horns with Moyes it would seem.
