2023/24 Demarai Gray

They have Christian churches in Saudi Arabia, and Catholic ones.

Still, I don't expect him to leave his kid (who lives with his former partner) to go there.
Didn’t realise that, assumed anything non Islam was discouraged. Although in hindsight I guess expat areas are zoned and a little different to the general locale.

You'd be surprised at what piles of money can do to a person. Even Ronaldo was on his knees praying to Allah after scoring just a few weeks into his time there, ffs.

No, you can find churches and mosques in the same area. (except in Makkah)

Infact, it's quite common to find synagogues throughout the Gulf now. (I don't think they've got to Saudi - yet) but every other faith is respected.

The only thing you can't do is denounce Islam. Punishment isn't as drastic as 20/30 years ago but you'd be on a flight home pretty sharpish.

While I've never been to Saudi Arabia, which is admittedly far more forceful in terms of Islam, in other Arab states (Jordan, Dubai) it's quietly tolerated.

People sort of come together to worship and whatnot if there aren't actual churches.

A cynic might suggest that the Saudis have been the best offer all summer and by not accepting less from Fulham etc then freezing him out and giving away his shirt etc we’re making it very clear he needs to accept a move he doesn’t really want to. Up to the Saudis now to say a number big enough to overcome his concerns.

If we get about £10m for him we’ll be able to sign one or two actual footballers due to increasing the size of our downpayments. Please agree to move to Saudi.

He’s the only player in the world who will reject a move to Saudi for life changing money that will set his family up for generational wealth… for family reasons.

Everton will not let Demarai Gray leave the club and sign for Al-Shabab until they have signed a replacement, due to the injuries to Dwight McNeil, Alex Iwobi and Jack Harrison. (Source: Sky Sports)

Surely not because i do not expect Gray to be match fit and interested in playing for us against Wolves.
We have Young, Danjuma, Dobbin and although not ideal Garner to cover the wide areas.

And for the next game the window will have closed.
