Becks is also 1 1/2 years older and managed only one more goal than Ba in his maiden PL season, with a much better team and way more apps (however much context must be applied to them; subs + unfamiliar position).

Demba Ba is the better player and he has the better record. He's not top class, true, but no one in our budget is. That's the point.

And that was in response to Silas bringing up the goals record. That was just to counter the Ba hype. He's said himself Ba is the better player.



Take a leaf out of your own book and "read the thread properly".

You said this. Which is blatantly inaccurate as Beckford's record is better. You never mentioned levels.

If he scores 20 goals for Newcastle that would be a very good career decision for him. Players are selfish and if you offer a high league finish or mid table with 20 goals they would take the goals.

I bet when we compare their GS rate to say Osman/ Ineista's assist rate we can all look back and say that your initial comparison was a joke.

p.s. I bet Ossie will score more goals than your spanish heart throb..

but 20 goals for a team that finishes sixth-fourth, that could win a trophy, and play in Europe the following season, is better than scoring them for a team in 12th that will likely win nothing.
