Lukaku could learn diddly squat from Denis the dope.

Close this thread.
From a technical perspective, you're right. But certainly from an emotive or commitment perspective.

You look at the goal v Chelsea and when the ball is moving around in midfield, the Straq doesn't seem to have a clue where he's meant to be. But you can also see how much he wants to be in the right place, he stutters and shifts all over the place trying to make himself available.

One thing you could never say about the Straq was that he went missing in games. He was everywhere, all the time, doing his best to be part of the team. He was epic.

This all day. He can only run in a straight line. Can't drop off and evade his marker by zig zagging.

I think he can do what your saying mate but for whatever reason he currently isn't. Whether that's fitness issues or instructions he's been given. He definitely looks a little static this season though. I think a couple of goals will do him the world of good so I'm expecting a brace against the Villa on Saturday

I stated in the Lukaku thread that he looks heavy. Yeah he's a big lad and if he worked the doors you wouldn't argue with him, but for me he is supposed to be a 90 minute footballer.

His stamina is pretty poor if i'm honest and I think he needs to "cut up" a bit. Maybe then you will see his power to weight ratio improve. His leap is pretty poor, he takes a few strides to get going, he gets tired pretty quick.

He could lose 3-4kg and still have more than enough power, but his stamina and explosive energy should improve dramatically.

I've mentioned that before regarding his heading so totally agree mate. I don't think I've seen him out jump anyone yet when he's facing back to goal. Maybe your right regarding weight as well, certainly not having any ore season games and coming back late may have disrupted the type of fitness regime he requires.

What's worse NEC is that the bulk he has he isn't using. United last week case in point ,he was being marked by a rookie kid skinny as you like and the kid had a cigar on all day. Diego costa ,saurez and all mega million pound forwards would have ripped him a new one. Lukaku just stood there all day until the manager swung him out wide and naisey gave them something to think about.

Totally agree. My view point on Rom is that he has grown up only having to use 70% of his capacity such was his height, strength and pace comparitive to kids his age.

Me personally, I was less than 5ft 2 and barely 9 stone at 15-16 (had a very late growth spurt) - but I played football in an unforgiving environment. What it made me do was perfect my timing in terms of jumping and shoulder barging and maximise everything I had with maximum agression.

Several years later as a 5ft 10 - 13 stone footballer I was able to knock far bigger players off the ball and outjump taller players.

I think its fair to say that the opposite has happened for Rom. He has had it too easy.

The likes of Shearer and Gerrard weren't anywhere near the size they ended up as developing players which is wqhy you see their agression as such an asset as fully grown players.

Take it you have never seen the pictures of him away at Utd?
Emotive/Committment - christ what do you actually want him to do? He signed for 5years; that not committment enough?
