I think we need to appoint someone with a mix of footballing knowledge, business knowledge and they should either have or employ someone with significant experience in data analysis techniques in football.
For me Tim Cahill ticks two of those boxes. What he is like at analysing football from a data point of view only he and the club will know.
Whatever happens we need to move away from being influenced by “friendly” agents and instead look at possible transfer targets from a cold and analytical point of view first and then make sure they have the right personality after that.
