Agreed. Neg is for people being nobheads, dislike could be for things you disagree with

I disagree. Neg. rep can be used in much the same way as pos rep to let someone know you disagree / agree with them but don't feel strongly enough to get into an a discussion about it in the thread itself.

It's certainly not just for dealing with prats, though it is ace for that.

I think this forum should improve the ignore function. I have 8 sad bell in my ignore list. I don't want them to see my posts nor I want to see theirs. I suggest once you put someone in the ignore list, there should not be any method of communication between you and him.

Not necessarily mod. Some people done that, abusing the system because they love to bully others. They have an erection out of such action.

I don't know how bad it was in the past but the current one has room for improvement. I put someone in my ignore list. I want to ignore them but it turns out they can read my post, making comment on my post. I feel like I am like an ostrich, putting my head into the sand without tackling the real issue.

Change your profile settings to only allow people to take part in conversations with you if you follow them.
If someone wants to talk to you privately, they then have to ask you to follow them first. Job done.

Bottom line, same as in real life, for whatever reason, some folk won't like you. There'll be people here who don't like me either. It's not worth breaking into a sweat over.
