This disorder seems to be getting worse and more extreme. Certain barriers seem to be coming down now - Eddie Howe getting in a really bad situation last week, Espanyol/Barcelona, AZ fans attacking West Ham players families, the Anthony Gordon incident here.

What's changed? People less reverent of those they previously saw as untouchable? A sign of the general breakdown of law and order and reverence to authority in society? Its all got a lot worse since the lockdowns. Obviously not a patch on what it was like before my time but still, surely it can't be long before something bad happens?

Probably seen the kopite lot getting away with behaving like animals so thought ‘what the hell’

The late 70`s and the 80`s was a different level, the difference being, there was no social media or camera phones, so most of it went under the radar.

It was only the really big kick offs or when someone got properly hurt, that it got reported on.

Even as a kid, you weren`t safe at some grounds.

Every away game you went to, you always saw at least one kick off and that`s if you were with the escort.

The whole terrace culture, was built around clothes, music and having a ruck.

Honestly believe the current crop of hooligans would never cope with what we went through back in the day.
Pulling into every underground station back to Euston with a mob awaiting, and about 2 plod trying to keep the peace, nowhere to run to....as if we did

The simple fact was, that no matter what age you were, if you went to an away match, you either expected to witness trouble, get legged at some point or get involved, whether you wanted to or not.

Certainly in Premier League, every inch of the ground, inside and out is covered by high quality cctv, with some of it having facial recognition capabilities.

There`s zero comparison with what on then.

Plus, the Police loved it too lol
