Loan makes sense if there is still hope for Kenny. If we had bought Sid then can call time on Kenny’s career at Everton but as slim as it seems there is still a life line here ...

I like the idea of a loan; try before you buy. Especially as we still have young Jonjoe on our books, and if he has a breakthrough season in Germany then hopefully we have a nice little selection dilemma at RB for next season.

Got to be honest, if Sidibe gets back to his best, he gets bought and Kenny is sold.

I remember when we got hammered down at Spurs and he just kept flying forward, Son just stood in the space and waited to get the ball. It never occured to JJK what was happening. Clearly a youngster learning the game but it struck me as such a fundamental error I've never really had any confidence in him since.

Funny that, considering I'd always thought the defensive side of his game was the better part. A season in Germany clearly worked for Lookman, so hopefully it'll do the same for Kenny.

Did it? He was even less fit for purpose so we sold him.

Nah. I'd say he came back to England a better player, but 1) he wanted first-team football instead of being a perennial sub, which is what he would have been for us with Bernard, Richy and arguably Walcott ahead of him, and 2) he seemed happy in Germany, and he seemed to have had the sulk on for us for the past year. We made a tidy profit on him, no complaints.

The last paragraph is exactly what will happen when Sidibe plays mate.

I dont think so. Kenny wont cut it. Not far off a premiership defender but lower table. Never going to be a top 4 player if thats where we want to be. Loan will do him good. Looks an honest player who wants to play football.

He will walk into our starting 11 and stay there.
