Do we need a better scouting network?

We have always had a good scouting network, it’s our lack of pushing the deals through here we fail.

Historically we have had players lined up and then Ble Bill haggles and we lose them.

For instance players like Kyle Walker and Kompany both slipped through our hands as we did not think they were worth £4mill And then on the opposite side of the coin we sell players for less than they are worth such as Rooney, Fellaini, Lukaku and to an extent Gordon (£60 mill to Chelski?).

The common denominator in this is Kenshite.
Good scouting network may be stretching it but I think we have scouted good players and have passed them up for inexplicable reasons. A lot of that has to do with the men at the top.

Yes but also it's the process we need to change, we have seemingly scouted many good players over the last few years but couldn't seal the deal because either Bill or Mosh(aided by his mate Kia no doubt) didn't sign off on it or we didn't have the funds. Do Brighton block their DOF from a signing in favor of "Premier league experience"? No they buy them cheaply send them to a club they have an arrangement with then bring them back and integrate them into their squad.

Cant do much about that, we have 3 of the biggest clubs in the Country in our catchment area, we are always going to be 4th choice.
Don’t target tier one players that they are likely to want then. There must be enough dialogue going on between the club and agents for us to know who is on whose watch list and which targets will or will not come. There’s loads of players who wouldn’t be good enough for them, who would improve us. Those clubs registering an interest also inflated the transfer fee and the players wage demands I would presume.

sorry didn’t realise we were talking about the Academy

I couldn’t tell you if we have a decent scouting network or not. What I can say is even if we do, I have no confidence that the club is able to take the raw targets, refine them and turn them into deliverable, achievable transfers.

Honestly I'm not sure given the names we get linked with - what I would say is the club is too risk adverse.

Onana could go this summer or next - but you'd hope he'd do a job, similar to Richy, for a couple of seasons then we get £20m+ extra when he does go.

Could have done the same with Diaz or Kudus or Dumfries or Kim Min-Jae or going back further Robertson or Tierney or VVD. There has been plenty of opportunity in the past.

But the club seem to think a PL experienced player with a poor record is the best option and the fans need to build some affinity with a player. Honestly who gives a toss, if the lad is scoring goals or defending and not messing up then it's fine if they're only around for a couple of seasons.

It's easy to say yes but we do quite often get linked with a few rando's (were even close on Caicedo at one point).

We might have a decent scouting network that is not assigned properly or their ideas are restricted etc. It's hard to say too much with little knowledge.
Or they provide plenty of names but those who have the final say dither or reject

Moshers does all of our scouting

Only when they pass his 600 tests - 599 of which are they desperate to sign - do we sign them

We don't have a network or plan of note. Hence we're in the mess we are in

We can't even generate a squad of note with decent resale values

Club never learns - ran by fools
