Do we need to spread the goals around more?

We needed a new striker last window and badly messed it up. 10 goal minimum striker to backup Lukaku. If we loose Lukaku this summer I think it's because we failed to bring in the players last year that would have taken us into the top 4 with those extra goals. As it stands it looks like this summer we will looking for two new strikers.

Need to ? Kind of, but it depends on the context

Would it be good ? Yea, ideally we need roughly another 15 goals a season over and above what we're likely to score this season. It doesn't really matter where those goals come from, but they'd be likely to turn a few draws into wins. If scoring that number of goals brings down Lukaku's percentage, which it almost certainly would, then job done.

Probably a more pressing issue is to have someone available how can play up front instead of Lukaku now and then, or come off the bench to replace him on his off days. If that someone's capable of chipping in ten goals a season, then we're well on the way to pushing for top four. Finding someone who's good enough to do that and is happy to play second fiddle to Rom is a nightmare though.

Reckon that's what Lookman and DCL were brought in to do.

Despite scoring a decent number of goals this season (44 in 28 league games), Lukaku has scored 40% of our goals, with Barkley the 2nd highest scorer with just 5.

I don't think it will harm us too much this year, but next season, is it better to give Rom more support? Where can we get extra goals from?

When we had Lineker scoring for fun we won nothing. Before we had him and after he had gone we had goals scored from throughout the team and won two titles and a couple of cups........

Yeah, but what's that look like? Unless it's Rooney (nah) or Llorente (already passed on him once, if that story's true), then you're brining someone over from another league who wants a crack at PL play. Or is there another way?

It's very important that we add goals in other areas of the team. I have heard some people say (not on here) that if other players start scoring it will take away from Lukaku. This is silly for me, because we're hoping to ADD goals to the team, not keep at where we're at. Tottenham are a good example, Kane the big scorer, with Alli (double figures), Son (almost double figure) and Eriksen (five goals) chipping in behind. Also Chelsea with Costa as the big scorer and Hazard (double figures), Pedro (almost double figure) and Willian (five goals) in behind.

We on the other hand have a big scorer in Lukaku, but our next best is Barkley, Mirallas and Coleman (very strong player) on four each. So for me, it's important that we find that other double figure player. I look at our squad but I cannot see that player there. This is a very important area for us to look at in the summer.
