Do you believe the "Headlock" allegation?

With the information we have today what are people's thoughts on the credibility of these claims?

What about the entire scientific community who have no affiliation with any government and certainly don't receive any financial incentives, being some of the lowest paid workers on the planet for the most important work?
Wow they all said Denise got a attacked? In a headlock? And manhandled? And choked out? Despite not a single ounce of evidence to support any such claim. I guess that's all I need to know! Media says so so I'm convinced!

“the athletic has been told..”

Sod off!!

Come on Everton FC, you can straighten this all out, you have the “power”. Release a statement to the fans.

I suspect they are walking the line because they don't have any evidence one way or the other. Or there could be editorial censure holding back partial or incomplete stories. This isn't exactly watergate, but it's possible there is a developing story yet to be released. Or, more likely, they are reporting what is known and not just hearsay (except for the Club's official hearsay).

I wish someone would just tell the truth for once. That’d be amazing news!

The comments are an interesting feature because you can give/get feedback with those who write the articles, but nothing good will come from comments on their page on stories like this. That's what Twitter or internet forums are useful for.
Was said half in jest mate to be honest.

I'm absolutely staggered that an organisation that takes itself as seriously as them have ended up with their kecks round their ankles so easily.

Feels like this could be a bit of a turning point for a large number of fans with journalism as well as the board.

So basically, it’s starting to look like that tweet that was doing the rounds yesterday, that stated it was just someone giving her a hug and jokingly asking “buy us some players Denise” is true? Didn’t that tweet also say that the fella and Denise were sharing a friendly drink at the bar after the incident / game also?
Then a board statement apologizing for perceptions spiralling out of control etc needs to be made. Which affirms that the 'rogue' communications and PR people will be dealt with and the club is disappointed with how certain sections of the media escalated events.
The fans support is appreciated, the board fully backs the players in the struggle ahead. That the entire affair was unfortunate and they appreciate how relationships need to be rebuilt and trust earned.

But then we all know this was an attempted stranglation of the fans movement seeking board accountability.

Agreed mate, well put.

@Muggins

I don’t know much about UK law but I’m pretty sure that if The Athletic publishes something damaging to the reputation of the Board without corroborating evidence it will get sued into oblivion. At least that’s how we do it in Yankee Doodle Land. In a developing story like this there is little room for guessing.

Cheers mate. Sadly this is England, when there’s an injustice we turn around to the person behind us and get in a big discussion about the injustice, pull a face, and carry on.

I think this is my outrage at the whole incident, no one will do anything about it, and all they actually need to do is tell the truth.

Technically, and very technically, the board and the athletic are not correcting themselves as it benefits both parties maybe?

It’s amazing if true that they can spin this event into a terror threat from Everton fans to the rest of the board.

I think the club should explain it all to be fair.

They are a brand whether we like it or not. They should make a detailed statement and settle all this.

Honestly, I think the club is scrambling to find a PR company who could spin this out to anything but what it really is, and everyone they ring is laughing at them. Ring is the new email in Everton land.
Completely concur.

Nothing will ever change with clubs like ours. These things will always be portrayed as the shocking/despicable actions of the fanbase Terrorising and belittling the club and its owners.

Then you look at the whole Utd saga and how the fanbase have been led on a 'merry go round' for years by a bunch greedy owners with no care for the club/fanbase other then to keep lining there own pockets.
