I watched the netflix doc about the challenger space shuttle.

It never registered with a young me that I just watched 7 people die on the tv in front of my eyes. Crazy and horrible that it could and should have been prevented.

Gets even darker when you find out the crew survived the initial explosion and were almost certainly alive up until the point when their module hit the ground. That’s something like 30 seconds of knowing you’re fecked as you plummet to the ground. Grim.

A divisive figure due to his right-wing politics, but a supremely talented writer and director who worked with all the 70's greats of US cinema.
He was the brains behind Robert Shaw's Indianapolis speech from "Jaws"- Shaw put his own immortal take on it with some of his own input, but the basis of it came from Milius' pen. "Didn't see the first shark for about half an hour.... Tiger... a thirteen-footer..."
He was also the writer of Dirty Harry - "Do you feel lucky? WELL DO YA PUNK?"
He was of course the writer of the best 'Nam flick ever made - Apocalypse now - "Exterminate.... with EXTREME....Prejudice..."
Also get onto "Dillinger" and "Big Wednesday" - essential viewing (He wrote/directed both)
He's lived a fascinating life - he was instrumental in the creation of the UFC (He even designed the octagon ring).
This trailer is for a terrific documentary about him. If you see it, get it watched.

The warnings were there and aired but other priorities took over from safety. Shame on those for making those decisions.

I watched trial 4 on Netflix. About a guy who stupidly said he had been a store the night a cop got murdered, he had been buying pampers, that slip was all it took for the rest of the cops to fully change their investigation and focus it all on him.

He spent 21 years behind bars for an offence he didn't commit and the Boson DAs office still couldn't admit they got it wrong when they eventually dismissed his case after 2 mis trials and a 3rd trial where half the evidence wasn't presented.

Seems to happen regular in the States, the west Memphis 3 another set and I watched one about a young kid who killed himself due to being wrongly incarcerated.

Watched the first two episodes of Liverpool Narcos on Sky Documentaries, good watch, the first one was about the 70s/80s and Michael Showers being involved in the importation of Heroin and how it destroyed the community and L8 became a no go zone for police even though he still denies it and claims he only brought in weed, the second one about Gary's is decent, anyone who grew up in 90s Liverpool will have flashbacks when you see the Lacoste trackys, Rockport and house music lolshows how it went from a 'love' drug in the clubs to more gangs realising they can make money then the door wars started

Third episode is about cocaine so presuming it'll be about Curtis Warren and Ungi/Fitzgibbons, interesting little documentary though

I watched part 1.
Not the liverpool I remember.
Painted a horrible picture of everyone on the fiddle and off there heads.

Cracking watch this. Basically explores the "most dangerous theme park in America" during the 80's and catalogues the countless safety hazards and accidents that occurred during it's existence. It was basically operated by TEENAGE staff - many of them drunk and stoned - working for buttons but getting loads of teen sex and pot DUUUUUDE. The first half if all fun and games, kind of like a teen comedy movie..... then it gets all dark and serious as several tragic deaths are documented and families still suffering the agony of losing their children at the park air their anger.

It's brilliantly edited and bittersweet - I still think I would have loved something like this in the UK as a kid in the 80's..... more BECAUSE of the risks rather than anything else....

Working through "The Last Dance" on Netflix, again.

Just brilliant stuff, ESPN pump out some serious quality with their sports documentaries, this is probably their pièce de résistance.
