when we was [Poor language removed] in the 90's & getting 20 something thousand in Goodison Park I honestly don't ever remember it being this bad with the constant moaning & negativity. Baffling the fan base at times

It wasn't exactly chipper back then IIRC. Just fewer people. If you watch the videos on Youtube, you will hear us booing at 90 mins for only managing a draw rather than a win against a smaller club etc.

We just have high standards, and rightly so. I do think that we could and should sing a bit more though.
