Does the club need 'rebranding'? Something based around the new location?

I don't think this can go beyond a subtle association with the river - some nod to it on a third kit perhaps.
You can't introduce some marketing slogan as it's just too forced.
The plans for Nelson Dock might be interesting and perhaps an option in future to utilise ferry crossings to the stadium?
That would be really neat and get us attention but is that going to be a sustained thing?
The bottom line is that we'll only get more attention by competing at the top end and everything else is secondary to that.
TFG do appear to be clued into opportunities to drive revenue so let's see what comes of it.
We need more fans and people spending money on the club as cynical as that is - the question is can we drive any of that utilising The Mersey and I don't see a great deal of potential there to be honest. How does that draw someone to support the club?
There is a benefit in it in terms of embracing the area where we are and the community but that's to a large degree more EITCs work.

All club's have their own identity. It doesn't depend on trophy success. They acquire one depending on, for example, the specific circumstances concerning the origins of their club or the places they are located in. No club avoids it.

We've got our football identity with origin story, great players, matches, trophy wins and celebrations, civic rivalry, etc etc.

But our identity was also bound up with being at Goodison. Now we're not there. Ergo a new chapter will be written in terms of our identity - another turn of the wheel in that respect. The river is fundamental to who we are now. It's not something that will have to be foisted onto us, it's just there dominating the scene. Literally.

And this is not about commercial exploitation. This is all about how the environment shapes anything and everything within it...including a football stadium on the banks of one of the most famous rivers in the world. There's no room for debate about all that. It will happen as sure as night follows day. The only thing to debate is how and in what ways the club (including - and especially - the fans) will seize on it.

There's been a quantum leap and people will realise that when this stadium is finally up and running with meaningful games. They'll figure out the new meaning of what it is to support Everton and who we now are.
