Does the club need 'rebranding'? Something based around the new location?

They'd know them equally the same.

There's nothing we can do about 'Liverpool'. Itls their name and they own it. We cant rebrand along those lines. But we do have something equally as good and probably better: Merseyside.

Don’t think it is to be honest.

Of course there is, they’ve had problems and had to change their branding because it was to close to that of the City.

Commercially if a club has the name of the area in its title it has advantage in brand recognition mate, we’re talking world wide commercially.

Barcelona are commercially more identifiable world wide than Espanyol.
Aston Villa are more well known than Birmingham City.

A civic title isn't automatically desirable.

They've all but trademarked 'Liverpool'.

Let's not forget either that 'Liverpool' also has international notoriety rather than renown:

Heysel, the holocaust of slavery...latin countries and Africa/the African diaspora revile the name.

It's anglo-centric to think it's synonymous with all things positive.

They can’t trademark a region they can trademark Liverpool FC. They and the City have been in court around this.

Look at what WHU did they called their Stadium the City of London Stadium - no one was arsed where they were from - now everyone around the world knows.

Their commercial revenue jumped.

What I’m describing is a real thing.

As I said it’s a delicate balance.

But there woukd be a huge advantage and brand recognition in calling BMD say:

“The Toyota City of Liverpool Stadium”.
