Sharp was mobile like DCL, but he was much more of a predator than him.

He'd be great in a strike partnership, whoever he was up top with would score 20 goals+. Shame front 2s are defunct

Yeah he'd of been a perfect partner for one of the old style poachers. Maybe a more mobile Number 10 like Rooney was in his younger days?

He spoke really really well there on MOTD. I have a lot of time for the lad. He's working hard and it's clear he's getting better. We clearly need another striker in the summer but there is always going to be a place at Everton for him. He has raw pace and his physicality scares defenders. I bet Sokratis is glad he doesn't face him every week.

Well, in a way, the comparison is moot as Sharp played with a strike partner.

No way DCL is going to become a potent striker nevermind a sharp level attacker.

We play a lot of long balls against the better teams and DCL impresses with workrate running channels and any lost cause.

The games he has to rack the goals up in are against lesser clubs when we have to play through teams. For me he just doesn't possess intelligent movement for those occasions.

I'm not having a go at him because he IS doing his best and he's doing ok. But he cant be our striker next season. If he is we've failed in the transfer market.

I’ve been critical of more points than just his goal scoring to be fair but I felt the way he played today was a coming of age of him today. A near complete performance. If he plays like that every week the goals will come naturally. I hope I’m right as I’m sure every other blue would be.

Works hard, can't fault that, but will never be prolific. 6 goals in 32 league matches says it all

6 goals in 1433 minutes

= 6 goals in 16 games.

14 goal average over a season.

Great #9s score goals. Dom is doing a job and doing it well but we still need an upgrade. He’s improving but can’t be counted on for goals yet.
