He certainly won't be good enough if the brain dead success starved Neanderthals make him feel like this thread would make him feel.

Complete and utter shortsightedness to think that his finishing can't improve... the very fact that all other parts of his forward play are better than any striker we have seen at the club in recent years means he should just be left alone to get on with his first proper run in the side.

I've seen jelavic go from looking like one of the coolest finishers around to an absolute mess in the box.... people on here seem to forget lukakus 10 and 12 game droughts for us and his recent ones for United.

Lukaku went 1139 minutes straight without a goal for us..... this lad has only played 300 minutes more football than that this entire season. Bit of perspective. But that gets lost when some of our fans have their boo boy to get stuck into.

I understand where you are coming from but we must look at the overall picture. He may or may not become the player we require to push us on but we all know that presently he is not. What do we do.......do we wait another season or two until he possibly reaches the type of player to push us on but in the meanwhile struggle for goals and stay mid-table or do we recognise that we may have a player in DCL so let us carry on trying to progress him but still look for a striker with a better strike ratio that could see us push for better league placings. We are mainly in agreement that DCL has the potential to improve but his current standing is not going to help Everton progress. He is a grafter but not a potent striker at the moment.

Credibility? You choose to use firminios full stats but not DCL? He has scored 17 goals in 87 games. He's laughably bad for a striker.

Can't believe you are trying to compare him to firminio... There is no agenda against DCL. But he just isn't good enough. You can improve a strikers game, work on his touch... Timing of runs. But you won't ever make a non goalscorer into one

Did you ever watch dugarry, bergkamp, Zola, di canio, sheringham, beardsley, baggio????

None of them prolific but impacted their teams in their play outside scoring.

He hasnt directly compared their style of play or ability.

All hes been posting is that for a young player he has a skillset which benefits the team.

Its clearly true as hes been a well praised player on the recent run...

Also nailed a few posters stating as fact that a player coming in as a sub here and there at a young age should have his goals-to-games ratio compared to top level forwards who play 90mins every week in better teams.

Let this sink in... Niasse has scored 12 prem goals in 60 games. And he's absolutely crap!

The only reason he is benefiting our team currently though is because we only have the Turkish Ibrahimovic as an alternative or a winger playing out of position .

He's completed the basics of a striker reasonably well the past few games but nothing to suggest he will become a superstar or provide the goals we most desperately need upfront anytime soon.

But yep credit is due he's looked like a nice solid hardworking but somewhat standard centre forward the past few games.

I think it's fair to say though he has missed quite some glaring chances with the minutes he's been provided thus far though.
