A striker needs to be a goalscorer though. Its quite important for a player in that position to score goals and he can't, meaningless goals or otherwise.

I can't question his work rate and aerial ability but I've yet to see him look like a prolific striker. I'd love to be proven wrong but perhaps a season at a lower PL team or Championship at worse may prove more beneficial in the long run?
