It ain’t ever happening.

I doubt very much DCL has played eighty odd games as a striker, played quite a few on the wings helping the full backs out, part of the managers tactics, especially Koeman. Yes he needs to score more goals the more he plays as a striker, I believe that will come, I understand some fans frustration with him but let’s be honest the present managers tactics don’t help him, or anyone who is selected under Silva and his plans.

We created less chances from open play than Fulham last season - we were ranked 12th. The trend continues this year. My point is that the team is static, and a change of striker wont solve the problem. DCL are now doing the job Moyes wanted from his strikers.

Nope the vast majority of them are as a striker and amazingly his scoring record is actually poorer when played as a striker than what it was when played on the wing. And in both instances it's crap

Don’t doubt your figures sagely, any chance of you breaking them down, matches played as a striker and also on the wing and a couple of games further back than the wing. If that is too much I will understand.

DCL will come good. The biggest problem is the service he gets. He got a goal against Bournmouth, and that will give his confidence a boost. Further, his link up play is excellent, and he is a handful for every defender. We have to focus on giving him better service, and more movement around him.

thing is, strikers are meant to carve out and create their own chances .. off the top of my mind I cant recall him doing this , ever!

Im going to continue to say it. I think DCL would benefit with the likes of Kean up top. He does a pretty good job of the hold up striker role just never gets forward enough. Kean is dying to make the runs through with his pace and aggression. I really think having a two striker formation would benefit us so much when it comes to this lad. Its inevitable he is going to play so why not make his impact heard on the pitch

He’s way too clumsy on the ball to be effective against certain opposition. The reason he succeeded against the top clubs is because they stretch themselves thin and Dom provides that ability to stretch the pitch.

He does not provide much ability on the dribble or in finishing, so we will struggle for goals unless we use him situationally. He has a use, but God knows it wasn’t last weekend. Huge blunder by Silva
