Last seasons strategy did bear some fruit and I thought I could see a positive direction in football andplayers recruited. This season has been poor but for some reason I half expected us to stutter at the start of the season. I was just hoping we would win a couple of marginal games. I was expecting us to get into some rhythm October but it hasn’t happened. He’s got to show a more ruthless side he is the boss. The players will still be there if he’s sacked.

Exactly. The idea was to rebuild. We did that last season and it's a new squad. We've added to it.

What's not changed is how Silva is using the players. He's got one of the top young strikers in Europe not getting a game. He benched Bernard and Davies for most of this season. Still prefers to play a two man midfield where most of the top clubs don't.

Wrong.

He had an 18 mth contract, which he could`ve seen out.

Once he had us safe, he had a golden opportunity to show the footballing world and us, that he wasn`t just a footballing dinosaur and play footy in a system other than 9 men behind the ball and hoof it up to a lone striker. If this had happened, he`d have got to see out his full 18 mths.

He also had the chance to redeem his soiled reputation after the Ingerland fiasco.

However, it`s the only way he knows how to play footy and when rightly called out by the fans for continuing to play his up and under footy, he took great delight in popcorning us.

Ex players have openly stated in the media that playing football under Allardyce was " primitive ".

I can`t remember the game last season, but we had more shots during that game, than the team managed during the WHOLE of the Allardyce tenure.

He will forever remain a stain on the proud history of our club.

He was never seeing out that second year. Said it at the time he was a caretaker manager, someone to come in who knows what he is doing and could identify the wasters at the club to prepare for our new manager.

The extra year was just a kick back for him doing his job (which he did).

Silva needs time to clear out the poor acquisitions under previous managers. Only then can we progress.

Definitely. Like Martinez, it's the cool/popular thing to hate him. I was embarrassed at the reaction of the fans near the end of his term, the way we had to cancel the player awards because of protests, the questionnaire, the refusing to stay behind for the lap of appreciation combined with banners and booing which led to him not coming onto the pitch. You'd think he'd spent £150m on Sigurdsson, Keane, Pickford, Bolasie and Klassen.

He did spend 47m on tuson and Walcott tbf

no idea who you have in the RB, AM or striker roles, but Coleman wasn't his, Gylfi wasn't his, DCL wasn't his, and pretty much the entire bench save Kean aren't his

not defending him, but it's still a piecemealed together roster with many parts that don't fit being crammed together. it won't be Silva that finds out, but hopefully 2 more windows and we'll have 20 players to choose from, all signed by Brands. that includes booting Pickford & Keane, those tossers

Fatso was in charge when we bought them mate

That’s who was being talked about ..fat sam . Someone was saying he came in and done what was required and that it’s “ cool” to dislike him , it was then said that at least he didn’t spend 150m on klassen, siggy etc . I then pointed out he sent 47m on the two I mentioned ... keep up man ! :)

When I look at it this way; A koeman player (Pickford) was at fault on the first goal, a koeman player (Keane) gave away the penalty, and a koeman player (Siggurdson) being shoehorned into the squad is what was wrong with us in the second half.

Furthermore, if a certain koeman player (Walcott) finished even half the sitters he's missed in a blue shirt we'd be looking pretty good.

Sick and tired of educating ye lot. But repetition can work. If this lad is leading the line for last 2 years is it any wonder we are bottom table fodder!!! Come on now...;).

Tbf its not his fault the board have failed to replace Rom in 3 years.

Crazy when you think of the money spent in those 3 seasons aswell.

Should have been on the ball season before. Everyone knew he was leaving except bill :(. Crazy we didn't replaced him then and lunacy of the highest order we haven't replaced him since. Lunacy is prob worse.
